Web sites reside on a
computer, called a server, typically housed in a secured, climate controlled "co-location".
That server is linked to many other computers via an Internet
service provider, or ISP.
This ISP gives people a bridge from their home or business to
the Internet. |
|
The company
that hosts the web sites is called the ASP, or application
service provider.
Generally speaking, this is very simple, as the
typical ASP will do little more than just host the
web site.
However, the pricing can change dramatically as companies
have different applications available to provide a variety
of services to their customers.
Some of the services we provide at WebIncome are:
- e-mail
- Webmaster training
- ftp
- monthly hosting (bandwidth, customer support, nuts and
bolts...)
- traffic statistics and analytics using a full call log system
