What is a Database : |
A database is a collection of information
that is organized so that it can easily be accessed, managed,
and updated. Computer databases typically contain collections
of data records or files, such as sales transactions, product
catalogs and inventories, and customer profiles. The most commonly
encountered category is the transactional database, used to
store dynamic data, such as inventory contents, which is subject
to change on an ongoing basis. |

At WebIncome, we offer complete database
customization & integration - decide what
data you want to collect from your visitors or customers,
then we can customize the database so you get out of
it what you need. For example, we can take your web
forms (contact forms) from the internet , and collect
that data in a database.
- Why is that good for you? When you use a form to
collect data and feed it into your database, you can
manipulate the data. Also, using a form will hide
your email address to keep it from the harvester programs
looking for addresses to spam. In addition, you have
the forms and keep them under PHP in the database,
so you can send emails to those contacts - perhaps
newsletters, updates of your site - just by a click.
Of course we don't allow or condone spamming, so you
have to be sure the recipient agrees to receive email
from you.
How can you use a database?
- Database driven web sites – good for large
sites, easy to maintain. CNN.com is an example of
a site using dynamic pages driven by a database. When
you have a large number of pages in your web site,
and you need to make frequent updates, this provides
a quicker way to update than static pages.
- Client relationship management (CRM). LInk to CRM
page, that has Sugar CRM demo. - Highly customizable
for your specific needs of your business. Assuming
you want something customized in CRM specific for
your business. We customize it to your specifications.
That will be only for your CRM link.
- Project management - everyone on a project can post
updates, send email, " PHProjekt " - link
to demo.
- Electronic commerce - maintain product catalogs.
You can have 10 products or 10,000 products - name,
images, different pricings (retail, wholesale, specials),
descriptions, are stored in the database, you feed
the database via an online administration page. And
in case you have an existing database, we can get
that data and import it to the database on the internet.
We prefer to use open source databases like MySQL, PostGRESQL,
BerkeleyDB, and we may use Oracle under the Compiere CRM.
